Cindy wins FIRST PLACE for ‘Best Christmas Shop Window Display’ in Burford, with her beautiful Gingerbread House for Hugo Lovage Patisserie.
Halloween 2025
Burford’s prettiest patisserie has embraced the spirit of the season with a Halloween window that is as enchanting as it is delicious. This year’s display captures the imagination with a playful mix of ghosts, pumpkins, and autumnal colours, but the centrepiece is a true showstopper – a haunted gingerbread farmhouse.
Lovingly handcrafted by Cindy, the gingerbread house is decorated with intricate icing details, cobweb motifs, and sugar-spun ghouls peeking from its windows. It’s a whimsical nod to Halloween traditions and a perfect reflection of the artistry that Hugo Lovage Patisserie is known for.

Sister business to Hugo Lovage Patisserie is Burford’s only riverside cafe, serving sustainable, seasonal menus for breakfast, lunch and afternoon tea.

Featured in The Bridge Magazine, January edition, we are excited to announce that Hugo Lovage Patisserie will again be part of the fabulous Burford Festival.
This year’s ‘Time to Bloom’ Garden Party theme will give everyone the opportunity to dress up and enjoy a delicious afternoon tea, cookery demonstration and interview.
Tickets go on sale from 1st May with Friends of Burford Festival able to buy tickets from the 15th April.

After many years as Head Chef at Burford Garden Company and latterly The Swan at Swinbrook; Hubert Kosmala has decided to move into the role of private chef and working with Cindy will be offering Takeaway suppers and Private Dining. We are excited to see how this side of the business develops in 2024.

We were thrilled to donate our fabulous Christmas window-display Gingerbread House to The Cotswold Home, a residential care home in the village of Bradwell, near Burford. The house was delivered by Michael Taubenheim whose 100 year old mother is a resident there. We are so pleased that the residents will be able to enjoy it!

‘I will be making bunny rabbit salted caramel choux buns, macaroons shaped like clocks and ‘eat me’ Battenburg. It will be a lot of fun,’ she adds.”
